West Lyon outlasts Sibley, on to Emmetsburg.

Pretty crazy game Friday night. Sibley came in gave us a good game. We moved the ball pretty well most of the game, but turnovers are still there. We had 370 plus in yards, including 80ish passing. They had just over 200 yards. Mabye 20 yards rushing for Sibley. We are the better team but penalities and turnovers are killing us.

So here we go. We scored first with a nice field goal. Jayden Snyder is a hell of a kicker. Sibley had their one solid drive and went up 7-3. We responded with Huyser first play after on a 58 yard run to retake the lead 10-7. Went to half that way although the defense had a great stand before half to keep it that way. The second half was just back and forth with us not scoring. It felt like Sibley was just hanging on. Then late in the 4th we had them pinned deep. A couple scummy plays later they were actually across the 50. Colin Snyder had a pick that returned to the 10, got tackled TO THE GROUND but the ball came out, I swear I heard a whistle. One of their kids picked up, returned it to the endzone and hands went up, Touchdown. We are down 13-10 with 1:57 left. We block extra point and have an ok return. Colin gets a pass interference call for another first around the 50. Couple plays later it is 4th and 8. Jayden steps up and hits Trevor Rozeboom for  a first down. Getting nervous but after a short run Jayden goes deep to Colin Snyder for the win. 40 yard pass for the win. Defense closed it out with out much problem. Check out Quikstats for our stats.

We are a very young team. I love the potential and I think we got better Friday night. Sibley is better than the last couple years, just, well, they are Sibley. We will see what they do the rest of the season.

And now we have Emmetsburg. They are 2-1 and, well, it is Emmetsburg at E town. I look forward to going to there and watching a great rivarly.
