50-7. Big Blue does it again. Lawton just does not seem to understand how to play West Lyon. I almost just feel sorry for them. They have been thumped so many times by Big Blue. Then again I see how many cocky kids they have had and I don't feel so sorry. Here is the write up.
WEST LYON 50, LAWTON-BRONSON 7
INWOOD, Iowa | Brandon Snyder
tallied 154 yards of total offense and two touchdowns as top-ranked
(Class A) West Lyon throttled Lawton-Bronson 50-7 a the second round
playoff contest.
Snyder completed 4-of-5 passes for 88 yards and
two scores and ran for another 66 yards on seven carries. Snyder threw a
47-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Groeneweg and a 38-yard touchdown pass
to Kaleb Heyer. Heyer also ran for 41 yards and two scores on four
carries. The West Lyon defense held Lawton-Bronson to 129 yards of total
offense.
West Lyon (11-0) hosts Bishop Garrigan on Friday. Lawton-Bronson concludes its season at 7-4.
120 of those yards had to come in second half when the 2nd and 3 rd team were out there. I have to say that is tough to single many West Lyon kids out right now as being better. The backs run so hard, the line kicks ass and when we throw it, it is money. The defense is a brick wall. Period. Each week a different kid elevates and just does great.
Well, we won again and are back in the quarterfinals. It has been two years and that was not a fun game. We play Algona Bishop Garrigan. Beat them last year in the first round. Was not a close game, but they are district champs this year so they must be doing something right. Looking at stats it seems like they want to run the ball. Our starting defense has been really good this year. I saw that they did not pass the ball against West Sioux in their first playoff game so it sounds like two similar teams pounding at each other. I guess we will see who has the bigger hammer. I like West Lyon in those types of games. See you there. GO BIG BLUE!!
