West Lyon pushes Alta Aurelia around

Homecoming night. Decent opponent coming off an almost upset of an undefeated (Lawton Bronson)team. Some good sized backs that were advertised as being very good. Kind of a scary game. Had not played at home since the Hinton game. Let me tell you, Big Blue came out ready to go. Opening kickoff returned for a TD but flag on the field. That would happen on alot of big plays. The refs were not very good. We had two TDs and one big play called back on late flags. The coaches did not seem impressed. The offense and defense were HITTING and HITTING HARD. Number 45 for them was a big boy, but it did not take long and he was backing down. According to the radio Big Blue had 335 yards Offense in the first half, they had 65. We ended with ended with 483 total yards, 391 were rushing. Brandon had 122 rushing (3 TD), 92 passing (1 TD). Kaleb had 126 rushing. 28-0 at half. Quickly made it 35-0 and 42-0. Alta kept starters in till the end and scored a cheap one late. Kaleb Heyer is just fun to watch. He plays so hard both ways. Brandon Snyder had a great game on offense with TD runs and throws but his hit on defense was amazing. At least 4 Alta boys had to leave the game with injuries. The offensive line is really playing much better and Jacob Meyer looks good catching the ball. Bennett is back (56 yards (1 TD) and ran well. Tyler Van Middendorp was running people over. I get the feeling there is more the offense can show, just don't have to with the way everyone is playing. The defensive line is getting better, Jordan Schemmel seems to be around the ball all the time. The secondary comes up now and hits people. This Friday is Lawton Bronson. They did lose their first game to Woodbury 20-19 last Friday. I looked at quikstats and it seems Lawton likes to run first, but throw the ball pretty well. They have played alot of bad teams and won easily, but struggled with Alta two weeks ago and lost at home to Woodbury. Tough team to figure. We look like we are better now than a few weeks ago, we need to keep going in that direction. We will know alot more about Big Blue after Friday night. We need to win out to have a shot at a District title. Go get it boys! GO BIG BLUE!!
