West Lyon lays the wood to Lawton Bronson, Rozeboom gets win 200!!
Lawton Bronson came into town with a 5-1 record and a state ranking of 9th. It would seem they also came in without their head coach. I saw something in Thursday's Sioux City Journal that he would have to sit out a game for an ejection against Woodbury Central. Well, with or without him, Lawton Bronson was once again not ready for the beating our boys gave them. We rushed for almost 500 yards. Kaleb Heyer was a beast, again. Tyler Van Middendorp punished people, Bennett F was a force and Brandon Snyder was running through people. The O line was blowing off the ball. Tanner Van Middendorp, Tate Kellenburger, Matt Metzger, Scott Erickson, Jake Newborg. These guys are looking sooooo good right now. Backs are running 3-5 yards before even seeing a tackler and then the backs just lay into them. This offense is starting to remind me of a couple years ago. The defensive line was in their backfield all game. 5 sacks, one yard of rushing. Jordan Schemmel, Cody Bouwman, Marty Pottebaum, Tate and Jake, great game! The linebackers and secondary were quick to the ball. There was only one time where a wide reciever shook free. The hitting was fierce. The Groenewig brothers each had some nice plays and Jacob Meyer is so steady. Cole Grotewold comes up and is starting to tackle well. The biggest event of the night. Jay's 200th WIN!!!!!! Congrats coach. I know he will say it was the kids playing well, but Coach you set the tone and lead the way!!
Next up is Woodbury Central. Throw the ball, throw the ball, throw the ball. They only have around 600 yards rushing all year. They are 5-2, 3-2 in district. We need another win on the road to push for the playoffs and district number 1 seed. GO BIG BLUE!!
