West Lyon tunes up for state, destroys Westwood

I don't know what to say other than wow. Big Blue scores on their first two series, Jessie both times, punt return by Rice for a TD and Jessie is out. 103 yards on 6 carries. Big Blue scores again to make it 28-0 at end of 1st quarter and starters are already just cheering. Three more TD's and 48-0 at half. Running clock and JV, Freshman come in and tack two more on and we win 60-0. Swen Rice had a rushing TD, Kyle Heyer returned a pick for a TD, Garth Knobloch had 2 rushing TD's, Loren Antoine also scored his first TD. Dylan McCarty had 6 tackles and a pick, although I didn't see that on quikstats, I may be wrong. Defense was outstanding, lots of backups played, held Westwood to -57 yards rushing and -20 yards overall. Congrats to team and coaches on another district title. We haven't lost a district game in 4 years. Just amazing. West Lyon plays Underwood Wednesday at home. Underwood was the team we beat 48-0 last year in first round, but I have been told they look very different, have a different staff. They were not blown out in nearly as many games last year, so I expect a more difficult challenge. If we win we will play the winner of Hinton/Griswold (at Griswold). Hinton upset Griswold last year, would not surprise me to see it again. We need everyone who can to come out and get us going in the right direction. Let's show the boys that the fans are ready to roll. GO BIG BLUE!!
