West Lyon pounds SOB 35-7

South O'Brien visited West Lyon on a cold wet Friday night and took a beating at the hand of Big Blue. West Lyon pretty much moved the ball at will scoring on their first and third posessions ( we had a fumble on 2nd drive). SOB did hit one long run for 69 yards and ended up with 115 rushing yards total on 35 carries. West Lyon then tacked on two more TDs to make the score 28-7 at half. Second half West Lyon drives, but no score, SOB does a little bit then nothing. Big Blue then just pounds again, makes it 35-7 and Rozy starts bringing in the back ups. Jessie had 118 yards on 11 carries (2 TDs), Sully had 93 yards on 8 carries (1 TD), Cody G had 60 yards, Swen had 51, Cody A had 2 TDs on only 3 carries. 365 yards overall, 340 at end of third quarter. Andrew Metzger led the team in tackles with Van Ginkel and Snyder also pretty active. SOB should send Rozy a thank you note because it could have been very ugly. This win clinches the District and now all that is left is Westwood at home this week. They are 1-7, 0-6 in district so I think we have a chance. West Lyon has won the last 4 District 1 class 1A championships without a single district loss. I believe this is 31 district wins in a row for West Lyon. Pretty amazing, congrats to the players and coaches for an unbelievable feat. Let's finish out strong and get ready for the substate round (which we will host!!)
