West Lyon rolls by West Sioux 27-3

The night started out to be a very calm nice evening, but by the end of the game it was COLD and starting to snow. Crazy Iowa weather. Big Blue started the game with a 3 and out, West Sioux then the same, then a nice drive, TD. 5 yards from Jessie. After West Lyon got the ball back Jessie went 72 yards to pay dirt, 14-0. Another score and then a West Sioux field goal. Half time 21-3. The winds then came and not alot more happened. West Sioux did have a good drive to open the 2nd half, but Big Blue held them and the Falcons missed the FG. West Lyon scored again in the 4th quarter but missed the XP, finished out the game 27-3. Big Blue had 314 yards rushing (Jessie S with 161, Sully with 71) and 101 yards PASSING. Cody G was 5-12 and looked pretty good doing it. That was the first time this season we really worked on throwing the ball. The defense held WS to 98 yards rushing, 78 yards passing. The linebackers really stepped up again. Trevor Snyder and Jason Van Ginkel had 8 and 7 tackles and Brendan TerWee had 12 in the middle to lead the D. The front line did a nice job funneling runners to the LBs and Adam Teunissen at safety is really really good. Offensively we have found a nice rhythm and the defense just flat out stops the run and doesn't give up many big passes over the top. Sorry I don't have more, but it got cold and we were handling them just fine. On to South O Brien. The Wolverines visit WL this week. They are 1-6 overall, 1-4 district. See you Friday!!
