West Lyon blows out Sioux Central

Homecoming, great weather and a 2-1 Sioux Central were all at West Lyon field Friday night. The Big Blue crew came out ready to go and scored on their first series 7-0. SC came back with a halfback pass for 6o+ yards and then hit a 9 yard pass, kick failed, 7-6. 5:30 left in 1st quarter at this point. West Lyon led 43-6 at half time. Jessie Selgeby ran 11 times for 100 yards and two TD's. Swen Rice had 4 rushes for 119 yards and 2 TD's. Cody Arhendt ran 4 times for 46 yards and a TD. Cody Grotewold ran and passed for one TD each (throw to Beau Hassebroek). Let's see, Sam Meyer ran for a TD, Tyler Van Middendorp had one and someone else, just not thinking of it right now. The defense was swarming. -19 yards rushing on 33 attempts, 127 yards passing, half of that on one blown play. The usual suspects led the way on D, Nick Thompson, Brendan TerWee, Cody Arhendt, Jason VanGinkel, Tyler Bos, Trevor Snyder. We will need all of this and more against a very good HMS team. They are 4-0 and have just been lighting up the scoreboard. We get them at home and last year they almost pulled one out at their place (see last year's post), so they should be ready to go. A win would really help towards a District crown, everyone else has a district lose. Go Big Blue
