West Lyon loses thriller to Hinton 14-10

INWOOD, Iowa | Morgan Wenzel's 13-yard run with 21 seconds remaining in the game helped lead Hinton to a 14-10 win over fourth-ranked West Lyon in a Class A second round football playoff game Monday night. The Blackhawks downed the Wildcats for the second time this season, also prevailing 28-12 on Sept. 7. West Lyon led 3-0 at the half on a 26-yard field goal by Brandon Snyder midway through the second quarter. Hinton then took a 7-3 lead late in the third quarter on a three-yard pass from Wenzel to Dalton Becker. West Lyon (9-2) regained a 10-7 edge with 3:07 in the game on a one-yard run by Bennett Feuchtenberger but the Blackhawks (8-3) drove down the field for the winning score on their next possession. Good year, bad end. Get in the weight room boys, there is a new sheriff in town and it aint us.
