West Lyon thumps South O Brien

Homecoming night was a nice night out. Crowd was pretty good. Big Blue received the opening KO and went three and out, defense dominated, punt back to WL. Moved it some, punt back, SOB does nothing, punt back. Third drive Big Blue is dialed in and moves the ball well but a fumble at the 15 after a nice run kills the drive. SOB has to punt again and WL moves right back down but stalls at the 9 and turns the ball over on downs. West Lyon brings big pressure and SOB throws a pick to Adam T and Big Blue leads 7-0 at half. Defense was once again dominate. Gave up 26 yards rushing, 30 yards passing. The coaches made some half time adjustments and Big Blue just smoked SOB in the 3rd quarter. Cody A was the star this week with 126 yards, Trevor S and Cody G each had about 75. That is the problem defending WL, who are you going to stop? Anyway, the score got run up to 35-0 with 10 minutes left in the 4th. Once again starters missed the game due to injury. Beau H missed because of an accident, Ken K was in street clothes and Sully is still down. It was nice to see some guys back though, even if it took a half to get going and finishing on offense. Cody G had 5 solos to lead the D. They kept trying to run outside of him, but WL is way to fast for SOB to get around. He is a very good corner. Adam T had to picks, one for a TD so he continues to be impressive. Cody A and Brendan T were just killing SOB up front, forcing them to try to run left, which wasn't real successful as Tate K and Skylar H did a nice job. Not alot of defensive tackles, the D wasn't on the field much. Overall a really nice win.

Now we have HMS at HMS. Sounds like HMS is very good, good skill position people, but not as big as they have been in the past. Anytime you go on the road, it can be an adventure. They are ranked anywhere from 3-7 in various polls and we are 2-7 so it should be a good game. I think this game will depend on how healthy we are. If everyone plays, we should win. Lots of guys out, HMS could pull the upset. Hope to see you there. GO BIG BLUE!!
