West Lyon blows by Central Lyon GLR

Great crowd Friday night and really a nice night for the Beef Bowl. The game started off with WL kicking off with the wind at their back. Hold Central Lyon, bad punt for CL and West Lyon just goes right down the field running the ball TD Big Blue. Kick off again, stop again, score again. West Lyon defense was just outstanding in the first half. The offense looked good, except for penalities. ugh, gotta stop that boys. 20-0 at half, West Lyon got up 27-0 before CL showed a spark on a 60 yard run, but what amazing was Trevor Snyders chasing the kid down. He did a great job at tailback (180 yards rushing)and plays like that are awesome. Central Lyon did hit a 30 yard TD pass to make it 27-7, but Big Blue just kicked some tail and pushed it to 40-7. Cody Grotewold was 4-5 passing for 60 yards and one TD. Beau caught 3 of them and the TD, Adam T caught the other pass for 24 yards. They both looked so good with their hands and the ball. Cody Ahrendt ran hard (26 yards, 2TD) and blocked well. Jason Van Ginkel also got some snaps on offense and ran very well (30 yards, 1 TD). I also wanted to mention Tyler Van Middendorp's run to goal line where he planted a CL d back on his back. Awesome run Tyler. Of course none of this is possible without the O line. Lucas Bouwman, Nick Thompson, Jerris Niemeyer, Brendan TerWee, Joel TerWee look like they could be a salty group. Ken Knobloch also played alot as Joel hurt his knee early in the game. Ken seemed to do a nice job and I hope Joel's thing is not too serious.
The defense is scary good. The front seven just contained and really abused CL all night. The defensive backs had hardly any tackles which is what you want to see. All seniors except sophomore Tate Kellenberger (who filled in for Joel) and junior Adam Teunissen (who is an all stater this year, no doubt). Jason Van Ginkel had 7 assists, Brendan TerWee had 3 solo, 4 assists, one tackle for loss, and Sam Meyer had 2 solos and 5 assists. Dylan McCarty also had 3 solos, 2 assists and one TFL.
