West Lyon survives Hinton
Hats off to Hinton. We really handled them 29-0 at home earlier this year but they traveled down to the number two seed Griswold and held an offense averaging 55 points to 10 and won 17-10. West Lyon struggled running the ball consistently but did kick a field and then scored a touchdown to lead 10-0 with about 2:30 left in the 2nd. Hinton never did get their running game going (42 yards for the game), but they hit a seam route for about 50 yards then on 4th and 15 threw a double pass to score right before half. 10-7, WL kicks off and boom, they return it to the house. Score Hinton 14-10. We stop them and stop them in the 3rd but first drive fizzles after a couple firsts but the then we go on a long drive, koedam and sigleby, and score to lead 17-14. Scored on the first or second play of 4th. We get the ball after Hinton gets a couple firsts and then just cram it down their throat, score with about 1:45 left and lead 24-14. Stai picks off a late pass, we kneel and on to the quarters. No injuries to report and Will Vant Hoff played in his second straight game and looked good. Also Brendan TerWee played on defense!! Can't believe it, he's taking chemo but played tonite. Crazy!
