West Lyon moves on, beats South OBrien 21-6

Chilly night, good playoff weather. West Lyon took the opening kickoff and just pounded down the field and one TD later, up 7-0. Stopped SOS, scored again in the 2nd and were up 14-0. SOS would get a little something once in awhile, but not much. Did have a nice drive before half, but ran out of time and missed a 45 yard FG. SOS leading rusher had 1600+ yards coming in, but he never really threatened, had around 22-26 carries and 85? yards. After our KO, SOS got a couple first downs, had to punt. We once again just drove down the field and Ageson got our 3rd TD late in the 3rd. We are up 21-0. SOS then went to the air and got into business. Scored early 4th to make it 21-6. SOS tried an onside, Matt Metzger recovered and we were moving again and then suddenly at SOS 20ish we fumble. They throw, throw, had 2 different 4th and long penalty calls for first downs. They did get inside the 5, but Big Blue stopped them short. Had to punt, Stai with a pick. We fumble late, but Cody B has an int off a tipped ball and it is over. We move on to Emmetsburg, at Emmetsburg. West Lyon vs Emmetsburg is a great match up, should go a long way to determine the next 1A state champion. Hope we can all make it. GO BIG BLUE!!
